Key responsibilities:
Financial analysis:
  • Analyse financial data, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations to communicate findings to management.
Cost cutting strategies:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cost-cutting strategies.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis to evaluate the potential impact of proposed cost-saving initiatives.
  • Implement cost reduction measures and monitor their effectiveness.
Budget management:
  • Assist in the development and management of the annual budget.
  • Monitor budget performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
Expense analysis:
  • Analyse various expense categories, such as operational expenses, overhead costs, and capital expenditures.
  • Identify areas for cost optimization and recommend solutions.
  • Track and report on expense reduction progress.
Vendor management:
  • Evaluate vendor contracts and agreements to negotiate better terms and pricing.
  • Identify opportunities for vendor consolidation or switching to reduce costs.
  • Monitor vendor performance and compliance with contractual agreements.
Financial Modelling:
  • Create financial models to forecast the impact of cost-cutting initiatives on the organization's financial statements.
  • Provide scenario analysis to support decision-making.
Data management:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial data in the organization's systems.
  • Ensure data integrity and security in financial databases.
Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors as needed.
Continuous improvement:
  • Stay informed about industry best practices in cost control and financial analysis.
  • Recommend process improvements and automation to streamline financial analysis and reporting.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's degree or professional certification such as CPA or CFA is a plus).
  • Proven experience in financial analysis, cost-cutting initiatives, or related roles.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modelling and analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, financial software).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and with cross-functional departments.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems.
